Urbania rental pricing in Chennai looks confusing only until someone explains the two billing models. This guide lays out both, with our actual published rates, so you can estimate any trip in under a minute.
Model 1: Local package (8 hrs / 80 km)
City usage is sold as a day package: 8 hours and 80 kilometres bundled together, fuel and chauffeur included. Our Deluxe Urbania starts at ₹8,500, going up to ₹13,500 for the Ultra Luxury with massage seats. Cross either limit and you pay a published extra-hour or extra-km rate — no surprises.
Model 2: Outstation (per-km, 300 km/day minimum)
Leave the city and billing switches to pure kilometres: ₹38–₹65 per km depending on variant, with a minimum of 300 km billed per calendar day. Driver bata, tolls, parking and inter-state permits are extra at actuals.
Worked example: Chennai to Pondicherry, 2 days
Round trip is roughly 320 km, but a 2-day trip bills a minimum of 600 km. In the Deluxe Urbania that is 600 × ₹38 = ₹22,800, plus bata and tolls. In the massage-seat Luxury it is 600 × ₹60 = ₹36,000. The minimum-km rule actually works in your favour here: side trips to Auroville and Mahabalipuram cost nothing extra until you cross 600 km.
What makes the price move
- Variant chosen — Deluxe to Ultra Luxury spans ₹38–₹65/km
- Trip length — each extra day adds 300 minimum km
- Season — festival weekends and wedding muhurtham dates run tight
- Route — hill stations and inter-state permits add small extras
